Holy Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam
The importance of sending blessings can be understood from the extraordinary wording and details of this injunction. Likewise, the following Ahaadeeth unfold the great virtues of this commendable act.
Hadhrat
Abu Hurayrah radhiyallahu anhu (Allah be well pleased with
him) has quoted Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wasallam as saying:"Allah confers
ten blessings on a person who sends me a single blessing ".
What to talk of ten
blessings, even
a single blessing from Allah would suffice for the salvation of the entire universe. How fortunate are the venerated pious
whose daily routine is to offer 125,000 salutations!
In another narration the Holy Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam is
reported to have said:
"My
Lord and Cherisher has informed me thus: If any of my followers shall send
one blessing upon me, He will send ten blessings on him; and if
someone shall send one greeting to me, He will reciprocate him with ten
greetings".
Hadhrat
Anas radhiyallahu anhu narrated the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wasallam
having said:
"A
person who sends me abundant greetings shall be closest to me on the Day of Judgement".
