Rasulullah
sallallahu alayhi wasallam has said that the water of Zam-zam will have the desired
effect of whatever intention is made at the time of drinking Zam-zam.
Zam-zam should be drunk with the intention of
quenching the thirst of the day of Qiyaamah (resurrection). It should also be taken with the intention
of Shifaa (cure) from spiritual and physical ailments. It is commendable to drink Zam-zam with the
niyyah of being granted the Taufeeque of conforming to the Sunnah of our beloved Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wasallam.
