SALAAM ON COMING INTO OR GOING OUT OF ONE'S OWN HOUSE OR ANY OTHER PLACE

It is related by Anas radhiyallahu anhu that the Apostle of Allah sallallahu alayhi wasallam said,
"O my beloved son! Make salaam when you go to your family because it will be a source of blessing for you as well as for the members of your family."

Tirmizi

It is related on the authority of Qataadah Rahmatullahi Alayh, that the Apostle of Allah sallallahu alayhi wasallam said,
"When you go to anyone's house, make the salaam to the household, and when you leave, leave by making the salaam of farewell."

Bayhaqi

It is related by Aboo Hurayrah radhiyallahu anhu that the Apostle of Allah sallallahu alayhi wasallam said,

"When anyone of you arrives at a gathering, he should first greet those who are present, and then sit down if he wishes. Afterwards, he should make salaam again on leaving. The first salaam is not superior to the second salaam, i.e. the salaam of farewell is of the same value or grade as the salaam of arrival, and not inferior to it in any way."
